The Year of the Kid!

In the spirit of our governor’s declaration that 2025 is “The Year of the Kid,” for the next several months, I am going to share with you the background of the great organizations Love You, Kid supports and why they make a difference in a kid’s life. 

Big Kids and Little Kids

We will begin with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) Of NorthCentral Wisconsin (BBBSNCW). 

Founded in 1904, Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) is the oldest, largest, and most impactful youth mentoring organization in the United States. BBBS leads the field in one-to-one youth mentoring, fostering positive relationships that significantly influence the lives of young individuals. It is not uncommon for Bigs to mentor their Littles for many years.  

BBBSNCW has served Marathon County, along with the Merrill Area in Lincoln County since 1976. Linda Koepke is BBBSNCW Executive Director and has been with the agency for more than 20 years. In her role, she devotes more than 40 hours a week to all phases of fund development, marketing, event coordination, grant writing, all aspects of coalition work, donor development and retention, strategic planning, supervising staff and community relations. Whew! Linda is truly the heartbeat of BBBSNCW. 

Love You, Kid! is proud to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of NorthCentral Wisconsin as they certainly make a positive difference in the lives of kids!
